Founded by Simar, Simar Yoga Academy is a transformational wellness school offering Yoga Teacher Trainings (YTTs), healing retreats, and holistic education rooted in ancient wisdom and modern science.

Simar’s journey began in the depths of personal loss, having lost both her children, Noor age12 and Suraj age 6, to cancer. From this profound grief, she rebuilt her life through breath, movement, and spiritual resilience. Today, she channels that strength into every class, retreat, and training she leads.

Simar is the visionary founder and CEO of Simar Yoga, a wellness brand rooted in transformation, growth, and serenity.

A certified RYT-500 yoga teacher, trauma-informed facilitator, certifications in hot yoga, somatics, chakra energy healing, yoga dance, meditation, kirtan, and holistic life coach, and participated in various programs of different modalities , personal trainer, essential oils and natural wellness and mental health advocate.

Simar blends ancient yogic wisdom with modern wellness practices to create inclusive spaces for healing, empowerment and self-discovery.

From beginners exploring mindful stretching to seasoned practitioners diving into energetic alignment, and soul awakening. Simar’s approach is welcoming, empowering, and deeply transformative.

Simar is known for her radiant presence, authentic, intuitive teaching style, and ability to make every student feel seen and supported. Her mission is simple: to help people come home to themselves—through movement, breath, and joy.

Today, Simar is a master yoga teacher and lifelong student of the mind, body, soul, energy, and emotions. Her teachings are rooted in lived experience and a deep understanding of transformation. She offers a space for others to heal, awaken, and remember their own strength.

Simar is a certified RYT-500 yoga teacher with over a decade of experience teaching in yoga studios, gyms, colleges, hospitals, clinics, and online platforms. She leads retreats locally and internationally—including in the Caribbean, India, and Dubai—and hosts wellness shows, workshops, and teacher trainings.

With over 15 years of experience as a yoga teacher trainer, I guide aspiring instructors with a deep commitment to authenticity, mindfulness, and self-growth. My training blends Hatha, Kundalini, meditation, trauma-sensitive and restorative practices, grounded in a true understanding of the mind-body connection.

I believe yoga is not just movement—it is a journey of transformation, self-care, and personal truth. Through supportive, experiential learning, I help students discover their unique teaching voice and step into confidence and compassion. Wisdom Keeper & Community Healer

With over 30 years of devoted practice, my journey into yoga began in the most unexpected place — inside a correctional facility where I worked as a correctional officer. The high-pressure, confrontational environment led me to burnout and depression, and yoga became my lifeline. It didn’t just help me — it changed me.

Today, I bring lived experience, compassion, resilience, and a little humour to every class. I believe yoga should feel real, supportive, and uplifting — a place where healing and joy meet. Students may come for the practice, but they stay for the connection, growth, and laughter we share.

Aspiring Yoga Teacher

Trisha is a life sciences student at McMaster University with a deep curiosity about the connection between mind and body. Her journey into yoga began as a personal exploration—and quickly became a grounding force in her busy, academic life.

With a background in figure skating, swimming, and experience as a swim instructor and lifeguard, Trisha brings grace, discipline, and body awareness to her evolving yoga path.
